This recipe was give to me by a lady I worked with. She hated my guts, but was as sweet as this recipe is to my face.
1 box butter cake mix
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1 egg
1 stick butter or margarine, softened
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 box powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Preheat oven to 350F. Mix together first 4 ingredients, keeping in mind that mixture will be stiff. Pat into 9x13-inch pan. Mix last 4 ingredients and spread on cake mixture. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until top browns slightly.
This is Sherri's hubby, Roger's recipe.
2/3 cup margarine or butter - melted
1 1/3 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease baking pan. Mix all ingredients and half of the nuts. Spread in pan and put remaining nuts on top. Bake 30 minutes or until you think they are done.
5 cups miniature marshmallows
1/3 cup light corn syrup
6 tablespoons margarine
1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 cups Golden Grahams cereal
1 cup miniature marshmallows
Measure cereal into large bowl. Butter 9x13-inch rectangular pan (please, how could a 9x13-inch pan be square?). Melt together the 5 cups marshmallows the corn syrup, margarine, and chocolate chops in 3-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly; remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Pour over cereal in large bowl. Mix quickly until completely coated with chocolate. Stir in 1 cup marshmallows.
Make squares by pressing mixture evenly in pan with butter back of spoon. Let stand at lease one hour, or refrigerate if a firmer bar is desired. Cut into 2-inch squares.
Julie's Marshmallow Brownie Thingies
Julie, my online friend from North Carolina, gave me this tempting treat. She said, "This recipe has a bar, a filling and a frosting and about a million calories per serving. It is soooo good." Oh man, I agree. It was so good and warm and gooshy. Mmm.
**Bar**
1/2 cup butter
1 ounce (square) unsweetened chocolate (optional)
1 cup sugar
1 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cups pecans, chopped (optional)
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 large eggs
**Filling**
8 ounces cream cheese, softened (save 2 ounces for frosting!)
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 cup butter
1 large egg, slightly beaten
1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1 (6-ounce) package chocolate chips
2 cups mini marshmallows
**Frosting**
1/4 cup butter
1 ounce (square) unsweetened chocolate
Remaining 2 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup milk
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
BAR:
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour (or spray with Pam) 13x9-inch pan.
In saucepan over low heat, melt 1/2 cup butter and 1 ounce chocolate, if
using. Add remaining bar ingredients and mix well. Spread in prepared pan.
FILLING:
In small bowl, combine 6 ounces cream cheese with the next 5
ingredients (sugar, flour, butter, egg vanilla). Blend until fluffy. Stir in
nuts and spread over chocolate mixture. Sprinkle chocolate chips all over.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until knife in center comes out clean. Sprinkle
marshmallows over cake and bake 2 minutes longer.
FROSTING:
Over low heat in large saucepan (I use a double boiler), melt 1/4
cup butter, 1 ounce chocolate remaining 2 ounces cream cheese and milk. Stir
in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Immediately pour over
marshmallows and swirl together. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup chopped pecans, if
desired. Store in refrigerator.
Do not substitute margarine for butter in this recipe.
Crust:
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
Topping:
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
4 eggs
1/3 cup lemon juice
Preheat oven to 350F. For crust: mix flour and sugar in melted butter until it makes a ball. Press into a 9x12-inch pan and up the sides about an inch. Bake 20 minutes. Remove from oven.
For topping: put all topping ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat with mixer until smooth. Pour over crust and bake for 25 minutes. Sprinkle immediately with powdered sugar.
This is a great dessert to take to a party; it looks hard, but I whipped it up in no time!
1 (20.5-ounce) package brownie mix
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips (use whichever size you have)
Preheat oven to 350F. Prepare brownie mix as directed on package. Pour into 9x13-inch baking pan that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake 35 minutes or until cream cheese mixture is lightly browned. Cool; cut into squares.
Remove teddy bear from oven and preheat oven to 375F. Melt 1 cup margarine in sauce pan. Remove teddy bear from oven (again) and tell Baby, "no, no." Add margarine to 2 cups sugar. Take shortening can away from Baby and clean cupboards. Measure out 1/3 cup cocoa. Take shortening can away from Baby again and bathe cat. Apply antiseptic and bandages to scratches sustained while removing shortening from cat's tail. Assemble 4 eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla and 1 1/2 cups sifted flour. Take smoldering teddy bear from oven and open all doors and windows for ventilation.
Take telephone away from Baby and assure party on the line that the call was a mistake. Call operator and attempt to have direct dialed call removed from bill. Measure 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup nuts and beat all ingredients well.
Let cat out of refrigerator. Pour mixture into well greased 9x13-inch pan. Bake 25 minutes. Rescue cat and take Daddy's razor away from Baby. Explain to kids that you have no idea if shaved cats will sunburn. Throw cat outside and hopefully he'll run away while there's still time.
For frosting, mix 1 cup sugar, 1 ounce (1 square) unsweetened chocolate, and 1/4 cup margarine in a saucepan.
Now take that danged teddy bear out of the @#%$% broiler and throw it away -- far away. Answer the door and meekly explain to the nice policeman that you didn't know Baby had slipped out of the house and was heading for the street. Put Baby in playpen.
Add 1/3 cup milk, dash of salt, and boil frosting mixture constantly for 2 minutes. Answer door and apologize to neighbor for Baby having stuck a hose pipe in man's front door mail slot. Promise to pay for ruined carpet. Tie Baby to clothes line.
Remove burned brownies from oven. Throw frosting and scorched pan away. Serve immediately.
