On My Knees
By: Angela Gillaspie © December 2002
"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2
"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." James 5:16
I can't pretend to know how you feel or what you're going through. Our circumstances are different. I want to reach out and make your pain go away. I would give anything to help - I don't know what to do.
I wish I knew the right thing to write or say and make you smile - to lift your heart. Words can comfort, but that isn't what you really need. The best thing I can do is pray for you.
Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
The tender mercy of a Savior is what you need.
On my knees, I will plead for you, cry for you, feel for you, and pray for you.
The enemy is waiting - he wants you isolated, weak, and filled with doubt. Alone you can do nothing, because the solution to your problems is beyond your abilities. Use your weakness to bring you closer to God, how else would you know of His love?
In your weakness, Christ's power will rest on you and this enables you to dig deeper within yourself and see the good things in your life. Focus on these blessings.
You are loved and you aren't alone. On my knees, I'm praying for you.
Prayer is an expression of the commitment and trust I have in God, and I will come before God in prayer and ask Him to take control. God will work on your suffering with His mighty power. God desires to be involved in every area of your life, and it is my privilege to pray for you - on my knees.
